Initiation of Networking and Advocacy for Child Rights in Bangladesh
(NACR Project Phase- 3)

For the period of three years from June 2006 to May2009, Networking and Advocacy for Child Rights in Bangladesh (NACR) project phase-III has been started to protect the rights of the child. With the financial assistance of Danida Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF) will build the capacity of 102 MNGOs through the project period so that they can identify CR violations, monitor NPA and PRSP implementation and report. A monitoring tool has been developed for it. Under this project BSAF will do advocacy for different issues like Adoption Law, Child Labour Policy, Child Commission and the establishment of Juvenile Justice. Besides this 6 child forums will be formed in 6 divisions through which the children can collect the information about CR violations and monitor them. There is a vital activity which is to set up help line operation to give referral service to the child victim, legal aid service, and counseling and rehabilitate the victims. It will need some specific phone numbers by which any body can inform BSAF about any sort of CR violation from any corner of the country free. Based on the information BSAF will take initiatives to help the victims with the help of its MNGOs.
